Our mission is to improve the lives of good, hard-working, and willing people—especially women—who face insurmountable obstacles in life by providing them hope through education and loving care in the places Viola Barrios loved most: San Antonio, TX and her hometown of Bustamante, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Viola Barrios is lovingly remembered for her many contributions to San Antonio and to her hometown of Bustamante, Mexico. Viola’s Huge Heart Foundation is a charity founded by the Barrios family that will award one fulltime scholarship to a student at Incarnate Word High School, the same school her daughters Diana Barrios Trevino and Dr. Teresa Barrios Ogden attended. This scholarship will support a young lady who might not have been given the opportunity to pursue a high-quality education due to financial constraints.

Viola’s Huge Heart will be expanding its umbrella of charity to support causes in San Antonio as well as in Viola’s hometown. The foundation will also support Les Dames d’Escoffier scholarship, a scholarship that encourages women to pursue careers in the culinary arts, also honoring Viola.
